“Quiet Please…” Premieres

It’s been a little over a week since the premiere screening of Quiet Please…and I’m happy to say that the response was overwhelmingly positive.  For those of you who follow the film on Facebook, this is a shortened version of my epic post, but for those of you who don’t follow page, here’s a glimpse of how the screening event unfolded.  The best source for up to date news is:https://www.facebook.com/QuietPleaseDocumentary/

Screening day: When I pulled up and saw all those people standing outside to see my film, that’s when it became a reality.  It was great seeing familiar faces, as well as new people coming up to me and introducing themselves…surreal is the best word to describe it.

After an hour reception where we were delighted by Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe – Chocolates, Gift Baskets & Corporate Gifts and cheese from The Cheese Cave, the time had come for me to introduce the film to the audience. For a year I was writing this speech in my head, trying to incorporate: anecdotes, coincidences, challenges, successes, as well as how this day almost never came to be.

As the last credit rolled, I grabbed my notes and walked briskly to the stage and to my joy and surprise, I received a standing ovation.  I started with a Q&A and heard some very touching comments from family members, including an apology. The audience was engaged with feedback, questions and stories of their own…it was everything I had hoped it would be. After the Q&A I thanked the people who I met along the way and who specifically played a part in making the film and premiere a reality.  I’m pretty sure it was the best day of my life and it was nice to see that other lives were touched as well.  Here are some pictures from the day.
